Why should I choose an Interactive onboarding video?

Successful onboarding of new employees starts even before the first day of work with interactive video. They are more confident, more likely to find their way around, and more likely to contribute to company results.

Ensure a soft landing with interactive video

With successful onboarding, new employees quickly feel at home in the organization and are thus more likely to be productive. This increases their likelihood of committing to the organization for a longer period of time and contributing to the success of the team and the organization sooner. An interactive onboarding video contributes to this. No idea what interactive video actually is? Then read our story ‘what is an interactive video?’.

Successful onboarding begins before the first day of work

By sending new employees an interactive video as early as during their pre-boarding (before the first day of work), you maintain the enthusiasm of the application. In the interactive video, you can welcome and prepare the new employee for the first day of work. In addition, interactive video is the means to tell (and show!) more about the company culture.

Why interactive?

  • keep the viewer longer
  • learning via video = easier
  • the viewer determines the order in which the video plays
  • the viewer can also return information
  • the video can be viewed in parts, so you can tell more
  • link from the video to in-depth information (e.g., on intranet)

Why do new employees love interactive video?

Professional

A professional video confirms that the applicant made the right choice to sign a contract.

Quicker part of the team

New employees get to work well prepared and find their place on the team faster. Fine for the employee and company goals.

Longer tenure

New employees who land successfully in the organization bond more quickly with the organization. This lowers the likelihood of (rapid) turnover.

Nice idea though, but what does that actually look like?

Check out an impression of the video we made for MSPS Group here. Especially the video ‘what does my first day at work look like?’ is in great demand. Pretty logical right? Who doesn't want to know what to expect on their first day at work!

How does it work if I want an interactive video for my onboarding?

If you want to get started with interactive video for onboarding, you need to do a few things:

  • Define concept: what form fits your organization?
  • Plotting storyline: what videos are needed?
  • Script writing: what will you tell per video?
  • Decide who tells: will you hire a professional presenter/presenter? Or can someone from the organization tell the story well? Or will you go for animation?
  • Shooting: do you film in a studio, in the office or both? Or do you have other locations that are relevant?
  • Design: so that the video breathes your brand dna
  • Montage: the right story, provided with the right image and design.
  • Setting up video platform: with desired interactions.

Good to know: you can play an interactive video only in a special video player that allows interaction. There are several platforms that offer this functionality. Compare well to determine which provider suits your needs.
