4 tools to make your life as a content creator easier

Content creator, secretly we all are. We email, append, photograph, film and post our asses off. There are also just under 2 billion websites worldwide that content is created for. Yup, that means 1 in 4 people theoretically manage a website. So time to share with you a few smart (free!) tools to make creating beautiful, business-friendly, content easier.

Page ruler redux

You probably know the problem: you want to put an image in a certain area but it does not fit exactly. You get weird frames around your image, your image gets squashed or blown up. Not pretty! With Page Ruler Redux you can precisely measure the area in which you want the image to appear. That way you know immediately in what size you need to cut the desired image to make it fit completely. Handy isn't it?

ColorZilla

All the content you create for your organization, of course, you want to put it neatly in the right corporate style. Colors play a crucial role in this. But what was that one color code again? ColorZilla tells you! With ColorZilla you can check what color was used for each specific plane, letter, or actually, each pixel on any website. You get both RGB and hex codes. The post-it on the side of your screen with color codes, is now a thing of the past. Also very handy if you refer to other organizations on your website and you want to use the colors of that organization.

Fonts Ninja

What ColorZilla does for colors, does Fonts Ninja for fonts. Having doubts about the font in a particular block of text on your Web site? Fonts Ninja makes it quick and easy to check if you've used the right font. Inspired by a font on another website? Fonts Ninja tells you which font it is. You not only see which font it is but can also instantly request more information. For example, how many styles are available, where they come from and what they cost. You might like to leave the latter to your designer but just double-checking fonts on your own website is just really handy.

Screen Capture

You can probably manage to take a screenshot. But how do you take a screenshot of a page longer than your screen? Right, with Screen Capture from Screeny. With Screeny, you can take a screenshot of an entire web page, part of the page or your entire screen. In addition, you can also make a video recording of a page while seeing exactly how your mouse moves and also explaining what you are doing. It not only records your screen but also uses your webcam to record your explanation. Super handy when you're trying to explain to your web developer, for example, where something is going wrong. Give feedback to your web designer? Give feedback directly in your screenshot. Write something, circle what you mean or tell it in a video. Simple right?
