Concept
How do you make a technical subject like ‘parts reuse’ sexy? By focusing on the craft and its impact on sustainability.
Production
We transformed the workshop into a film set, making sure that work could go on as usual.
Rotary Day
We filmed the mechanics in action: we beautifully captured the disassembly, cleaning and testing of the parts.
Assembly
The result is a cool, industrial video that shows that refurbished is not ’second-hand,’ but quality with a green edge.
For a full day, the men from the refurbished parts center took us through their story. The love for reusing as many materials as possible, is deeply rooted. In addition, speed also plays a role. Materials are expensive and sometimes hard to come by. By reusing as many materials as possible, ASSA ABLOY can supply specific parts quickly. That's great when technicians are on site and need just that one part to fix the problem.

By cutting the production into three parts - the tour, the 'practice of the future' and a post-expo version - we created content that remains relevant both on the show floor and long afterwards.
