Impact with spoken word

Commissioned by STET, we filmed this penetrating portrait “To whom ever this may concern” by Onias Lansveld in which he delivers his monologue for the 2021 Keti Koti festival. Because of the hard Industrial background his texts come in extra.

Our approach
Discovery session
We started by getting to the bottom of the text and the emotion that STET and Onias wanted to convey. What is the core message of Keti Koti in this context?
Concept
We translated the monologue into a visual concept. In doing so, we chose a minimalist, raw style that does not overshadow but carries the words.
Production
Preparation for the shooting day. From scouting the perfect industrial location to arranging the right light and sound.
Rotary Day
On set, everything revolved around Onias' performance. We created a safe atmosphere in which he could tell his story with abandon.
Assembly
In the edit, we set the rhythm. We cut the images exactly to the cadence of the spoken word, supported by subtle sound design.
Completion
We delivered a powerful video, optimized for online use, that was immediately usable for STET's campaign.
To draw wide attention to the Keti Koti festival, STET launched an online campaign. With this video they hope to get people thinking. Get them moving. Because in times of corona, visiting a festival is suddenly no longer a matter of course.
The national commemoration will take place on Monday, July 1, in Oosterpark at the Monument to the Dutch Slavery Past and Legacy.

FNV ‘Reset the system’
The tax system needs to be fairer, but real. And that is exactly what the FNV is working for. With 'Reset the system' they are initiating a movement to create awareness in all layers of our society. This was also the case during the first 'Reset the system' event of which we made a short registration.
