Video series for and by international students

To give future master students an impression of international student life during the Eu-HEM master program, we made a short video series. A series in which Eu-HEM students and alumni tell what it is like to study in 4 different cities, why Eu-HEM is so cool and what you can ultimately achieve with it.

Our approach

Concept development

We came up with a student-centered format: not a slick promo, but honest vlogs and interviews that show real life in the four student cities.

Production

Logistically quite a puzzle: we coordinated the online shoots with different European cities and interviewed the students.

Rotary Days

On location in Bologna, Oslo, Rotterdam and Innsbruck that was out of the question, but by working smartly online it still became a whole.

Assembly

We forged the images into a dynamic series that perfectly conveys the diversity and energy of the students.

A two-year master's program where students can study in 4 European, that is the European Master in Health Economics and Management (Eu-HEM). The cooperation between 4 top universities offers students not only a strong program in terms of content but also the chance to develop a unique skillset by studying at 4 different universities. But what is it really like to study in different cities? And how difficult is it to get accepted into this exclusive program? And what are your career options after that time anyway? We asked students and alumni and summarize their answers in the short video series ‘Eu-HEM across Europe’.

The concept: Eu-HEM across Europe

To emphasize the international nature of the program, we interviewed students from around the world from their own home, place of study or workplace. This gives a sense of the type of student suitable to pursue the master's program and shows something of the potential study, living or working environment. To keep the production feasible and budget friendly, we interviewed all students online and then recorded it via their own webcam. By casting it in a nicely designed template, the series immediately exudes Eu-HEM and professionalism. Indeed, the image quality of the interviews clearly shows that it was not filmed with a professional camera.

By having real students and real alumni speak without a pre-directed narrative, we maintain authenticity. The stories are believable and also give the viewer an immediate sense of the type of student suitable for the master's program.

For the website, social media and newsletters

We chose a series of 13 short videos instead of 1 or 2 long videos. Each video focuses on 1 question answered by 3 different people. The viewer knows in advance exactly what to expect from the video and does not have to search the videos for the part where ‘that one question’ is answered. The short videos are woven into the website where they are deployed when they are relevant. In other words, the visitor reads something about finding student housing and can immediately watch the video on this topic.

In addition, this is ideal social media content. Short, powerful and to-the-point, as well as just plain fun when you're getting your bearings on the program. Finally, the video is also included in the newsletters where prospective students learn more about the program and everything that needs to be arranged around enrollment.

The videos look really nice, and the questions fit very well with students' questions for students!

How do you deploy locally relevant video content without organizing a new shoot for each city? For Interparking, we developed a concept where we reuse existing footage and combine it with a flexible text template. This way, we create short, powerful shorts that make the benefits of online booking directly visible at the city level.
